I've just heard that Elio Pace's single 'What A Day' has been selected for the BBC Radio 2 Playlist for the week beginning 5th December. The regular readers amongst you will remember that I arranged the horns for this song. It's available to buy as a digital download from iTunes for just 79p ... what a bargain!
We're touring with Elio's band in January 2010, and it really is such good news for his Christmas single to have made the Radio 2 B-List. Elio and I have been hard at work on the music for the tour, which will combine songs from his recent album 'A Seat At My Table', with other well-known evergreen songs.
The Bone Supremacy album is now in the final stages of production and will be released early next year. This recording features guest soloists Mark Nightingale, Roy Williams and Alistair White.
I've recently booked to see Thomas Dolby in a one-off concert reuniting his 1983 'Flat Earth' band on 28th February 2010. I've admired and been influenced by his music for some years, and it'll be great to see him perform live again.
