A few weeks ago we had the first rehearsal with the Andy Daniels Group which was a great success. I think that the music he has written (all original compositions) is excellent, and am very much looking forward to the next rehearsal and indeed gigging with the band. The musicians are Martin Shaw, Brandon Allen, Mark Hodgson, Paul Clarvis, Andy and myself.

The new album by the Karen Sharp Quintet released on the 33 Records label is now available. Karen not only plays but also writes great music. This is the first album of her own on which she plays baritone saxophone, and in particular her treatment of a seldom-heard Billy Strayhorn ballad is simply beautiful.
